2024 Knitting Projects

September 2024 I became very very into knitting. Knitting kind of saved me.

Knitting keeps my hands and my mind busy and I fell in love with that. A little distraction and challenge has meant I get to make some pretty amazing clothes whilst also being a form of therapy.

So here is my review of all of the items I knitted in 2024…. brace yourself.

  1. Easy Basic Cardigan-Easy as Knit

I got this pattern for christmas 2022 but didn’t finish it until september 2024, it’s my first knitted garment and you can tell. There are lots of little errors as I was getting to grips with understanding all the knitting jargon but I am pleased with how it turned out.

Made with Drops Nepal in Royal Blue. Pattern - 8/10 easy to follow. Finished Product - I don’t actually wear it that much so I might frog it and use the wool for something else.

  2. Fingerless Gloves-Learn to knit, Love to knit

I immediately wanted another project so made these basic wrist warmers.

Made with Drops Lima. Pattern - 10/10 easy. Wear them all the time, they have become baggy so I want to try another pattern.

  3. Amy Sweater-Petit Knit

This is one of my favourite knits, love the colour, loved the pattern. Should have done a gauge swatch (we move) but I think it still looks amazing. I really love the roll neck in particular. Unpopular opinion but I love rib stitch.

Made with Drops Karisma in Light Olive, Pattern 10/10 great instructions and videos. I wear it weekly!

  4. Easy Evening Sweater Man-Easy as knit

I made this one for Doug’s Christmas present, he loved it, I love it. We share it! It’s super soft and cosy, perfect for winter in Scotland.

Made with Drops Lima Petrol Mix held together with Drops Air Peacock Blue. Pattern 9/10 Super easy and chunky wool makes it fly by.

  5. Easy Evening Vest (V-Edition)- Easy as knit

This was my christmas project, a quick little vest. Parts of this pattern were hard and there is still a lot to learn but it’s a great layering addition to my wardrobe.

Made with Drops Lima Sea Green Mix. Pattern 7/10 struggled in parts. Will wear this into summer.

  6. Sophie Scarf-Easy as knit

I’d been seeing these scarfs everywhere so had to make one, most people followed the Petit knit pattern but I liked the double knit version from Easy as knit. The double knitting increases took a minute to figure out but it was super simple after that.

Made with Drops Baby Merino Chocolate Brown. Pattern 8/10 pretty easy. Wear it a lot more than expected!

  7. Easy Colour Mittens- Easy as knit

I wanted to try a colour work project and these mittens were a small start, I found this quite difficult maybe because the mittens were small, a bigger garment may have been more simple but they look pretty cute…. like tiny hearts. I also should have made a bigger size because I have huge hands haha.

Made with Drops Lima cream and brown. Pattern 7/10 easy to follow but it was a bit fiddly.

  8. Ultra Easy Ruffle Socks- Easy as knit

Such a fun quick project, I think it is nice to have an easy project to do alongside a longer project so you don’t get bored and socks are perfect for this. Had to redo the first sock as my tension was off.

Made with Firework hand-dyed yarn from buzzinyarns. Pattern 10/10 - Super easy

That’s a wrap on my 2024 knits! Let me know if you have any questions, I am no expert but happy to help.
